Handcrafted in Taxco, Mexico, this artisan ring is made of fine Sterling Silver and embellished with a natural round cabochon-cut Sunstone.  The gem is organic in appearance and varies in color as you move the gem around.  Measuring  15mm wide, the Sunstone is the feature with its cool gem characteristics.

The bezel makes it easy to wear with no prongs to pick and the ring is finished with a bright polished adjustable shank.

The ring is sizeable (so please inquire if we can help you with sizing at which point the shank will be finished to a solid shank).

The ring has great appeal and is unisex in style and suitable for teens and adults.

About Sunstone:

The name "sunstone" is used for translucent to transparent feldspar specimens that produce bright metallic flashes when light interacts with tiny plate-like mineral inclusions within the stone.

These mineral inclusions usually have a common orientation, and light entering the stone reflects from them at a common angle.

This produces a flash of light in the eye of the observer who views them at the proper angle. This optical phenomenon is known as "aventurescence."

About Taxco:

Taxco was a lovely silver mining town located southwest of Mexico City and the center of a hand-wrought silver industry in the 1930's.

Taxco silver jewelry production boomed during World War II because Europe was unavailable as a source of luxury goods, so many high-end retailers in the United States and Canada turned south of the border to meet customer demand for exceptional silver art and jewelry.

Taxco presently has over 300 silver workshops that produce hand-made silver jewelry which is now one of the most recognized Mexican art forms.

Taxco is primarily known for its fine silver handwork and other crafts, being recognized as the outstanding center for silver work in the Western Hemisphere.
